The Photo Workshop is to engage with the participants of the youth program at Centro Romero. We can achieve this by teaching them the basics of photography, going out and actually photographing for an afternoon, and then having a show for their friends and family to come and see something beautiful made by them.
The program can also be taken a step further.
If there is a genuine interest, after having done the workshop,  we could give the youths disposable cameras to bring with them to photograph their community and their environment. After the first week we have another photo walk and then get the disposable cameras developed and have a big show. We could also encourage a form of print trade amongst the youths fostering a more collective experience and a sharing of inspirations fueling the desire to continue photography.
Camera workshop with outdoor photo walks for the youth program and hold a photo show after. To bring the community together, let the kids have a sense of achievement and inspire them to keep discovering world.
This project directly relates to the community because the project is based around creating a new community of young photographers as well as bringing their friends and family for an art show.
